The Difference Between Laundry Detergent and Laundry Soap
There is a notable difference between laundry SOAP and laundry DETERGENT!
Traditional laundry detergent is loaded with chemicals, fragrances, sulfates, phenols, petroleum distillates which have been linked to cancer and lung disease. You may think it doesn’t matter because you are washing your clothes and not your body, but think again! Even passive exposure can be toxic. Our laundry soap is all plant based, bio-degradable and safe for every member of your family.
Here is a breakdown of the ingredients included in our Laundry Soap:
Borax: A natural mineral that has been mined and used in cleaning fabric for thousands of years. It is made up of sodium, boron, oxygen and water. It works by removing greasy residue from clothing. It also disinfects, neutralizes odor, acts as a pH buffer.
Baking Soda: Effective, non-toxic cleaning agent, Helps with low sudsing (which is required for High Efficiency machines). It whitens whites and is a natural fabric softener.
Washing Soda: Acts as a solvent and stain remover. Sometimes called sodium carbonate or soda ash, is made from natural salt and limestone or is found as natural deposits.
Shredded Soap: We don’t waste anything at Cheeky Maiden Soap Co! We shred up end pieces or odd cuts to put in the laundry soap. Our soap is plant based and eco-friendly. The shreds dissolve during the wash cycle. It adds a lovely natural fresh fragrance to clothes. Gentle enough to wash your face and strong enough to get your clothes clean!
Lavender & Grapefruit Essential Oils: This scent combo is both calming and up-lifting. Lavender is a good stress reducer plus it’s a good anti-microbial so its great to disinfect dirty clothes
Rosemary & Orange Essential Oils: Orange is a good mood booster and is a great anti-depressant. (Imagine feeling happier by wearing your fresh laundry!) Rosemary is a great anti-bacterial and anti-microbial and has been proven to aid in improving memory.

FOR BEST RESULTS
Add 1 scoop (its about a tablespoon) to one medium-large size load of laundry.
You can add directly to the washing tub, sprinkle on top of your clothes or to the spot where your machine has you put your laundry soap. Some machines have a pull out drawer where you can put the laundry soap.
For stain removal just mix a bit of the laundry soap with water and make a paste and rub it on the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes and then throw it in the laundry to wash.
